Driving to Canada
5th - 6th July

We left Boston after a spectacular fireworks display to celebrate the 4th of July. I have never seen a display like it - I think I was watching it with my mouth open! Anyway, we picked up our Jeep the next day and hit the road north. Even though we mainly kept to the highways, you got the sense that Maine is a beautiful state and probably worthy of two weeks of time exploring time alone. We decided to spend the night at Boothbay Harbour, a real gem of a place that we wished we could have spent more time in. Here, we had our first lobster dinner - very messy, very tasty and lots of fun.
